Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” Dmitry Prokhorov took part in a ceremony dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Kostroma Energy College named after F.V. Chizhov (KET). The head of the energy company handed certificates of honour to employees of the educational institution and made a welcoming speech.
“The staff of the energy technical school gives students not only theoretical knowledge, but also serious practical skills. The level of education that students receive here helps make the Kostroma region more promising and prosperous,” stressed Dmitry Prokhorov in his speech.
The Kostroma Energy College was founded at the expense of the Kostroma industrialist and philanthropist Fedor Chizhov. Its creation marked the beginning of professional education in Kostroma. Over 125 years of work, about 20 thousand specialists graduated from the college. Among them there are more than 60 scientists, inventors, doctors of technical sciences. Today, the college teaches seven specialties in the field of construction, energy, economics, information technology.
The Kostroma branch of Rosseti Centre has been fruitfully cooperating with this educational institution for many years: annually more than 800 specialists of the branch improve their skills on the basis of the Multifunctional Centre of the KET. Professional training competitions are held at the training centre of the technical school. Kostromaenergo’s Youth Council takes part in the Career Day and other social events held by the technical school. And its students undergo practical training in Kostromaenergo, and in the summer, as part of the student crew “Energy 44”, they work at the branch’s facilities.
