14.10.2019

The Tver branch of Rosseti Centre provided assistance to participants of the All-Russian Forum of Young Television Journalists and Video Bloggers “Media Olymp-2019”.

“Media Olymp-2019” is an educational platform for video content creators, which brought together young television journalists, cameramen, editors, bloggers, and representatives of student media centres from different regions of Russia. The forum has been held in Tver for the third year with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The forum included master classes from professionals from the federal media, television channels, media professionals and practical classes, as a result of which the participants created videos, stories, and video materials, thereby working out the knowledge gained in practice.

This year, creative assignments were united by a common theme - “Heroes of Labour”. The final works of the participants were dedicated to people of working professions. Through their stories, the hard work of people in these areas was shown, where everyone is not only the main character of history, but also a hero for society.

With the assistance of employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”, the participants recorded two video reports about the company and its employees.

The video topics proposed by the power engineers for the young television journalists were determined by the priority tasks facing the branch at present - the fight against theft of electric energy and increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers.

The participants of the first film crew were able to see the work of an employee of the inspection control group of the security department, revealing noncontractual and non-metered energy consumption. In their video, the journalists spoke about the exercises to combat electricity losses taking place in the branch, and that the theft of energy is illegal and life-threatening.

The report of the second film crew reflected the organization of work of the dispatcher of the branch’s Grid Control Centre. In the video, the audience heard a story about the interesting and responsible work of dispatchers who manage the operation of equipment at substations and the electric grid as a whole, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers, and manage the personnel of field crews, and also saw the technical equipment of the Grid Control Centre. The plot clearly reflects the process of making operating switching from the moment when the dispatcher from the workplace instructs electricians to perform operations at the substation, to the result of this command - switching off switching devices. For this, the crew members, together with the on-site crew, visited the 110/10/10 “Lebedevo” substation and saw with their own eyes and recorded the process of switching off power equipment for repair and putting it into operation.

According to the results of the forum, the video about the work of the dispatcher of the Grid Control Centre was among the winners and received the jury’s sympathy prize.

“The employees of Rosseti Centre Tverenergo were pleased to support the young generation of television journalists and to demonstrate the work of those who depend on the reliability of the region’s power supply,” stressed Nikolay Kotov, the deputy chief engineer for operational, technological and situational management of the branch. “Participation in the media forum is a great opportunity to attract the attention of residents of the Upper Volga Region, and especially young promising specialists, to the energy profession, to talk about the role of Tverenergo in the life of the city and the region and to show the importance and significance of the work of the branch’s staff.”
