10.10.2019

Energy students studying in the fourth year of the university majoring in the Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Technology took part in the youth technical council and workshop held at the system-wide training centre of Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo. The guys visited the high voltage “Uchebnaya” substation, Valuysky Distribution Zone and the eastern section of the diagnostics service.

At the youth council, the guys discussed with the power engineers the prospects for the development of energy within the framework of digital transformation, learned about new systems and equipment currently being implemented in the electric grid complex, and got acquainted with the current state of grids. The chief engineer of the Valuysky Distribution Zone, Alexey Sevostyanov, spoke about the tasks and structure of the energy service, the purpose and configuration of the training centre, and the features of constructing a power supply scheme for a typical settlement.

“The centre is a kind of a training tool for practicing power engineers,” stressed Alexey Sevostyanov. “Here there are various types of overhead lines (including modern self-supporting insulated wire), disconnectors, fittings, several types of lighting fixtures, all types of transformer substations (from pole-mounted to dead-end), “smart” switching devices, which are a key part of the digitalization program for the electric grid complex.”

The boys and girls got acquainted with the safety rules when working with power equipment, learned where and how electricians increase their professional skills.

The event was held as part of a comprehensive program of interaction with specialized universities and colleges, which provides for practical, research and educational activities. In particular, student groups will be able to regularly practice at Belgorodenergo’s training centres, participate in youth technical councils, Open Doors Days, and professional classes on relevant topics. The branch’s specialists will be involved in participation in the work of state examination commissions, round tables, scientific and practical conferences and master classes.
