09.10.2019

Andrey Mozokhin, a leading engineer of the operation section of automated control systems of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, as part of the team “Power Engineers of Centre of Russia” of PJSC Rosseti was awarded the diploma of the winner of the “Forecast of the Global Energy Development of Russia” competition. The power engineers’ team received one of the highest scores for popularizing the industry and eventually became the second. The award ceremony was held at the II Summit of the BRICS Youth Energy Agency as part of the Youth Day #TogetherBrighter at the International Forum “Russian Energy Week”. In addition, Andrey Mozokhin was chosen as the speaker of the final forecast, with which his team, as the winner of the competition, received the right to speak at the REW Youth Day.

The competition “Youth Forecast of Global Energy Development” has been held since 2017 as part of the festival #TogetherBrighter and is included in the All-Russian list of youth events aimed at popularizing the fuel and energy complex, energy conservation and engineering education. This year it lasted more than 6 months. As part of the competition, teams from energy universities and large industrial companies in the fuel and energy sector identified and analyzed the development trends of Russian and foreign energy, developed recommendations for shaping the country’s energy policy and developing its institutions. The work of the teams was evaluated by experts from leading scientific and educational organizations. The main evaluation criterion was the popularization of engineering professions, engineering education and the development of new technologies. The discussion of the Youth Forecast of Global Energy Development was held in dozens of Russian universities and major industry companies, as well as abroad in the BRICS countries.

The team “Power Engineers of Centre of Russia” defended the project “Digital Energy and Intelligent Electric Grids”. In addition, it presented the results of its work in the form of the training manual “Energy of a New Way (EnergyNet): Implementation of Digital Technologies and Adaptive Control Systems in a Distributed Electric Grid Complex”. The manual, intended for bachelors and masters of technical specialties, was developed and compiled by Andrey Mozokhin, who is also an assistant professor at the Department of Automated Systems and Technologies of Kostroma State University, and found positive feedback from the experts of the competition.

“I had the right to present the final forecast of the team “Power Engineers of Centre of Russia”. The forecast was prepared by young specialists from the branches of Nizhnovenergo, Lipetskenergo, Smolenskenergo, Tverenergo, Ivenergo, Kostromaenergo for 6 months. It was a difficult job, as it was necessary to participate in conferences, write scientific articles in order to confirm the relevance and reliability of the conclusions we made. Personally, I participated in two conferences in Cheboksary and Kostroma, where I became the winner in my sections,” Andrey Mozokhin shares his impressions. “The work of the whole team did not go unnoticed and our Forecast was highly appreciated by experts and heads of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.”
