Belgorodenergo modernized outdoor lighting in recreational areas of Grayvoronsky urban district

27.09.2019

Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo in conjunction with the administration of Grayvoronsky urban district implemented a project to modernize the outdoor lighting of the park named after Shukhov in Grayvoron and the “Sports” square in the village of Golovchino. Power engineers replaced power line poles with illuminating composite structures and installed modern LED lighting fixtures. The work was carried out as part of the reconstruction of recreational areas under the program “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”.

Instead of reinforced concrete and metal outdoor lighting poles, employees of Grayvoronsky Distribution Zone installed 31 decorative poles made of fiberglass composite in recreational areas with the addition of a special absorber that protects against ultraviolet radiation. Such constructions are stronger, lighter and much more aesthetic against traditional ones, and due to the internal illumination at night, they serve as emergency lighting for park alleys. The main evening illumination is provided by 35 LED lighting fixtures with a power of 120 and 60 W, made at one of enterprises in the region.

As the deputy head of the administration of Grayvoronsky urban district for construction, transport, housing and communal services and fuel and energy complex Roman Tverdun noted, the power of the LED lighting fixtures is by an order less than traditional ones, and the luminous flux is brighter and more saturated. According to experts, the annual energy consumption in outdoor lighting should decrease by 5 thousand kWh, which in monetary terms will amount to 34.6 thousand rubles of budget funds.

The idea of modernizing the outdoor lighting was unanimously supported by the townspeople, as well as the reconstruction of the park itself. The place of rest here has existed since the 19th century. Previously, the territory was located next to the Holy Trinity Church and was called the Trinity Garden. In 2018, the townspeople decided to give the park and the square in Golovchino a new life by rating voting in a referendum. “After the reconstruction, the park cannot be recognized,” local residents say. “We are delighted, everything is so beautiful, unusual, fabulous, and the illuminating poles are a highlight. It’s nice to come here after a working day.”

Modernization of outdoor lighting is one of the components of the Agreement concluded last December on the interaction of the Belgorod Region Government and IDGC of Centre, PJSC in the field of development of the region’s electric grid complex. The parties’ agreements relate to the implementation of a whole range of measures aimed at modernizing the grid complex using digital transformation technologies, including the development of an outdoor lighting network in the region. In early 2019, a similar project was implemented by Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo in Valuyki.
