Kurskenergo modernizes street lighting systems in the Kursk region

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” continues to modernize the region’s street lighting systems. Since the beginning of 2019, the branch’s specialists have replaced over 700 lamps and 300 lighting fixtures. Work is carried out in accordance with agreements concluded with municipalities of the Kursk region for the provision of the value-added service “Setup of outdoor lighting systems”.

In Oboyansky, Lgovsky and Dmitrievsky districts, the power engineers replaced more than 500 incandescent lamps with modern LEDs, whose service life is several times longer. In addition, the branch’s specialists installed energy-saving LED lighting fixtures, replaced and set the time relay for the automated control of street lighting in compliance with the modes and schedules of lighting.

“Modernization of street lighting systems is aimed at improving the comfort of residents of the Kursk region. This will allow local governments to significantly reduce the cost of paying for electric energy consumed through the use of energy-saving lamps and equipment,” stresses Alexey Karpenko, the head of the marketing and value-added services department at Kurskenergo.

By the end of the year, the branch’s specialists plan to install more than 1,500 outdoor lighting devices in the Kursk region.
