Belgorodenergo took part in an exhibition of natural gas vehicles

An exhibition of cars participating in the international motor rally of gas-engine vehicles using liquefied natural gas and motor vehicles of Belgorod companies operating on gas-motor fuel was held on 25 September as part of the international rally “Blue Corridor - Gas for Motors 2019”. About 30 cars took part in the demonstration, including vehicles of Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo.

Exhibitors and guests got acquainted with the latest examples of gas-engine vehicles of the largest automobile plants, industrial and motor transport enterprises of the country, discussed the prospects for the expansion and use of natural gas as fuel for engines, government support measures, exchanged views on the operation of vehicles using natural gas. Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region - Head of the Department of Economic Development Oleg Abramov spoke about the development of the gas engine fuel market in the territory of the Belgorod region.

This year Belgorodenergo joined the regional project for the intensive development of the gas engine fuel market in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement signed by General Director of Rosseti Centre Igor Makovskiy and Governor of the Belgorod Region Yevgeny Savchenko. In accordance with the three-year roadmap, 212 vehicles will be converted to compressed natural gas (methane), 51 cars have been converted this year. According to experts, this will lead to a reduction in harmful emissions into the atmosphere, lower fuel costs and increase the life of the engines. An additional advantage will be a 50% reduction in the transport tax rate adopted at the regional level.

122 employees of Belgorodenergo have already completed training on the driver training program for working at gas-filled vehicles.

The large-scale international rally “Blue Corridor - Gas for Motors 2019” started in Istanbul this August, the Russian part of it - on 20 September in the Krasnodar Territory at the Russkaya compressor station. The route passed through the territory of the Rostov, Voronezh, Belgorod regions, then - the Moscow and Novgorod regions. The finish of the rally will take place on 3 October in St. Petersburg at the ExpoForum exhibition centre as part of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. The length of the Russian section is 2,760 km. Over 20 cars, trucks and passenger vehicles using compressed and liquefied natural gas as fuel take part in the event.
