Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” continue systematic work to popularize an energy-saving lifestyle among the younger generation. Since the beginning of the year, the power engineers have been conducting energy efficiency classes in schools in Kostromsky district of the Kostroma region.
They tell schoolchildren about the types of energy and its renewable and non-renewable sources, and give recommendations on energy saving in everyday life. Among the most effective methods that make it possible to rationally use kilowatts - installing a refrigerator in the coolest part of the room, using a washing machine only when the drum is fully loaded, turning on air conditioners or heaters only with windows and doors closed, and disconnecting chargers from the wall outlet. And, for example, abandoning the habit of leaving household appliances in standby mode allows you to save an average of 200 - 300 kWh of electricity per year.
During September, Kostromaenergo’s specialists plan to conduct 6 classes, more than a hundred children will become their participants. In total, since the beginning of 2019, the power engineers of the Kostroma branch of Rosseti Centre has conducted 37 energy saving classes in educational institutions of the region, another 17 lessons are planned to be held before the end of this year.
It is worth noting that the current issues of energy conservation and energy efficiency will be discussed in the framework of the All-Russian festival of energy conservation “Together brighter”, which will be held in the Kostroma region in October this year.
