Lipetskenergo stepped up work to reduce losses in electric grids

23.09.2019

For 8 months, the branch of Rosseti Centre prevented the theft of electricity in the amount of 60 million rubles.

So, a resident of a house in Khmelnitsky Street in the city of Gryazi stole electricity for 52 thousand rubles. She connected all the main electrical appliances in the house, bypassing the meter: a washing machine, a water heater, and more. This was found out by employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” while checking the connection scheme of her private house. Now the woman will have to pay all non-metered electricity, as well as a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles. The fact is that the power engineers sent documents on the initiation of an administrative case to the police. Responsibility for unauthorized connection to electric grids, as well as unauthorized (non-metered) use of electric energy is provided for in Art. 7.19 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

A crew of Lipetskkenergo found a similar violation in a house in Chekhov Street in the city of Gryazi. Here the owner was billed at 61 thousand rubles. He is also waiting for a fine. At the same time, the power engineers pay the attention of fans to “save” on paying bills: lawmakers have tightened the punishment for such people for repeated violation. If the consumer once again comes across an attempt to steal electricity, then the fine will double and will be equal to 30 thousand rubles.

According to the specialists of Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo, Gryazinsky district is among the leaders of the Lipetsk region in the number of cases of theft. In August alone, 25 acts of non-metered and non-contractual consumption were drawn up here.

“It is important to know that illegal connections and unauthorized interference in the operation of electrical equipment are the main cause of power surges and power outages. That is why crews of Gryazinsky Distribution Zone are now working hard to identify cases of electricity theft. Ultimately, this work will lead to an increase in the quality and reliability of the electric grid complex of the entire region,” said Sergey Vetrov, Deputy Director for Sale and Development of Services of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo”.

In total, over 8 months of this year, the power engineers drew up 605 acts of non-metered and non-contractual consumption. Thus, Lipetskenergo prevented the theft of 11 million kWh of electricity worth more than 60 million rubles.

*- From June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers will use the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
