Smolenskenergo’s power engineers opened the doors of Smolensk City Distribution Zone for students

For the 2nd year students of the Smolensk Regional Technological Academy, employees of Smolensk City Distribution Zone of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” held an open doors day dedicated to the All-Russian festival of energy conservation and ecology “Together Brighter”. The main objectives of the event are career guidance and familiarization with energy-saving technologies at the enterprise.

In the Distribution Zone, the students were told about the rules of conduct near power plants, about the dangers of electric shock, and also reminded of the need to be careful in handling household appliances. The students got acquainted with the protective equipment of electricians and masters, and also learned what specialties are in demand in the branch.

During the tour, the leaders of Smolensk City Distribution Zone introduced the students to the premises of the Distribution Zone and the control centre. The guests learned how the electric grid complex of the district is managed. The event ended with a lecture on energy conservation.

“Career guidance is carried out by Smolenskenergo’s specialists throughout the year. To attract young people to our branch, career counselling talks, excursions to energy facilities, open doors days in the Distribution Zone are held. However, today Smolensk City Distribution Zone opened its doors for students of the Technological Academy not only to get acquainted with the power engineering profession, but also to demonstrate the energy-efficient technologies used in Smolenskenergo,” explained the deputy chief engineer of the Distribution Zone - the head of the production and technical group of Smolensk City Distribution Zone Sergey Krivopalov.
