An excursion into the world of electric power was carried out by Belgorodenergo’s engineers for fourth graders of a Belgorod school

Pupils of the 4th grade of Belgorod school No. 46 as part of the All-Russian Festival of Energy Saving #TogetherBrighter visited Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo with a sightseeing tour. For two hours, the guys were involved in the life and daily work of the branch.

Belgorodenergo’s engineers introduced the pupils to the Grid Control Centre, talked about the work of operators, the principles of operational-technological management and plans to create the Unified Grid Control Centre.

At the Energy Efficiency Demonstration Centre, the children clearly saw the difference between outdated and modern equipment and learned why it is necessary to rationally use energy resources.

The culmination of the tour was a visit to the classroom, where each child was able to try on virtual reality glasses, find themselves on the territory of an existing substation and feel like an electrician servicing an energy facility.

According to a pupil of grade 4 “A” Milana Koshkarova, it was an unforgettable journey into the world of electricity. “Until now, we saw substations and wires only in the street, near the house, and did not know how they work. Now I looked at everything with different eyes. We thought that everything turns on itself, but now we know that the light in the houses, the burning lamps in the street are all the work of the power engineers in our city. Most of all I remember the “walk” in the substation wearing virtual reality glasses. In real life, this is not possible, but thanks to the power engineers, I have been to where children are forbidden to be,” said Milana.

At the end of the tour, the children received books and colouring books from the educational set on digital transformation “Energy Saver in the Digital City” as a gift.
