Kostromaenergo receives thanks for teaching children safety rules

18.09.2019

Deputy General Director - Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” Dmitry Prokhorov received a letter of appreciation from Director of Nikolskaya Secondary School Natalya Yakimova. The educational institution thanks the power engineers for their attention and participation in ensuring the safety of schoolchildren. In particular, for the route game in the framework of the “Safe Childhood” campaign.

Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, together with representatives of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia (GIMS), the regional branch of the All-Russian Volunteer Fire Society (VDPO) and the Federal National Guard Troops Service continue to conduct route games on the subject of safety for children. Today, the game on life safety was held for pupils of grade 3 of Nikolskaya Secondary School. About 100 girls and boys took part in it.

Divided into teams, the participants of the games went along the routes consisting of thematic stations: “Electrical Safety”, “Fire Safety”, “Safety on Water”, “Dangerous Object”, “Safety Alphabet”. Here they were met by representatives of relevant organizations and departments, who told how to behave in a particular emergency.

At the "Electrical Safety" station, Kostromaenergo’s experts introduced the children to the rules of conduct near existing electrical installations, warned of the danger posed by the electric current, showed warning signs and posters. The guys were given memos with tips on how to handle electricity. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, VDPO, GIMS and the Federal National Guard Troops Service taught the children how to use fire extinguishers, call the fire department, told the children about the rules of behaviour on the water, how not to succumb to panic during an emergency, etc.

“Such events are very important for children, especially for elementary schoolchildren. After all, most of the free time the children are alone, without adults. Faced with problems of fire and electrical safety in everyday life, they sometimes do not know how to behave. Thanks to cognitive games with the participation of various departments, the children receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also learn to apply the gained experience in practice,” stressed Vera Kustova, a junior schoolteacher at Nikolskaya Secondary School.
