Visitors to library number 3 named after B.L. Vasiliev in the city of Smolensk on 17 September 2019 attended lectures on energy saving and career guidance conducted by employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo”. Such meetings are regularly organized to promote an energy-efficient model of behaviour among the younger generation and to promote the power engineering profession. These events were held as part of the All-Russian festival of energy conservation and ecology “Together Brighter” - 2019. Pupils from an elementary school and high school attended them.
The power engineers introduced the third graders to the rules of energy efficiency and energy saving, with varieties of lighting devices, the installation of “smart homes” and the most modern energy-saving appliances. The children talked about the energy-saving rules they knew and learned new secrets to saving and smartly consuming resources at home and at school.
Participating in thematic games, the children tested their knowledge in the field of resource conservation and concluded that people should save electric energy so that its reserves could be enough for future generations.
For the ninth graders, a vocational guidance lecture was held with a video showing about the power engineering profession.
Interaction with the libraries of the regional centre began in 2018. Power engineers regularly hold meetings on career guidance, energy conservation, the basics of electrical safety and digital transformation for readers. Participants in events are schoolchildren of different ages and students of secondary and higher educational institutions.
For reference:
The idea of holding an energy saving festival #TogetherBrighter came about thanks to a youth initiative in the framework of the International Forum ENES-2015 in the autumn of 2015. It was supported by the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Rosmolodezh, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the State Corporation “Fund for Assistance to the Reform of Housing and Public Utilities”, the Global Energy Prize winners and other youth and public organizations.
The festival is held in order to popularize the culture of careful consumption of energy resources and to demonstrate modern energy-efficient technologies used in various sectors of the Russian economy.
