Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” continue systematic work on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. On the eve of the new school year, the power engineers implemented a range of additional measures to ensure electrical safety in the region near educational and preschool institutions.
At power facilities located on the territory and near schools and kindergartens, special checks were carried out for the safety of fences, locks, warning signs about the danger of electric shock.
Work was carried out to eliminate dangerous defects of poles, wires and other electrical equipment. Scheduled work was carried out to replace bare wires with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) on overhead lines passing through and near schools in the villages of Budische, Alekseevka, Zhernovets, respectively, of Bolshesoldatsky, Glushkovsky and Kastorensky districts.
One of the important components of the work on the prevention of electrical injuries among children is lessons on electrical safety. During the summer holidays, Kurskenergo’s specialists conducted more than 40 such thematic classes in children’s recreation and school camps. About 1,700 schoolchildren took part in them.
The power engineers involved adults to work on the prevention of electrical injuries among children. Specialists of Konyshevsky Distribution Zone of Kurskenergo at a general gathering of citizens of the “Prilepsky Village Council” municipality told the audience about the danger of electric shock when they try to penetrate the territory of power facilities, improper handling of electrical appliances at home, when approaching dangling wires or trying to climb power poles to take a selfie. The gathering participants were given thematic leaflets for children with basic electrical safety rules.
