Its first stage was held on the basis of Youth Sports School No. 5 of the city of Kostroma, seven employees of the enterprise took part in it. The correctness of the tasks was assessed by professional judges of the testing centre - teachers of the sports school.

Participants in their age categories passed mandatory tests and tests of choice. Among the obligatory ones for women were running for a distance of 2 km, push-ups, flexibility exercises; for men - running for 3 km, pulling up on the bar or a jerk of a weight of 16 kg, flexibility exercises. The standards also included running a distance of 30 metres, a long jump from a standstill and abdominal exercises. The second stage of passing the standards will be held in late September. It will include swimming, shooting and other sports. The final results of the participants will be posted on the official website of the GTO, in addition, they will be awarded insignia.

“Very active and athletic young people work at Kostromaenergo. Our employees participate in various regional and corporate competitions and show good results. The branch has created all conditions for sports, sports clubs work. I am sure this will help us pass the standards successfully,” Pavel Petukhov, the chairman of the trade union organization of the branch, is sure.

It is worth noting that for Kostroma power engineers the delivery of the GTO standards is becoming a good tradition. Last year, ten employees of Kostromaenergo participated in passing the standards. Nine of them eventually received gold badges of distinction, and one got silver.
