The branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” reviewed the progress in implementing the energy conservation and energy efficiency program in 2019. The total effect of the implementation of the program activities for 7 months of this year amounted to more than 2.5 million kWh.
1.5 million kWh were saved thanks to the implementation of organizational measures. They include switching off of transformers in low load modes at substations with two or more transformers, switching off of transformers with seasonal load, reduction of heating loads in buildings during a non-working period.
More than 734 thousand kWh were saved with the help of technical measures: replacing wires with a larger cross-section for overloaded power lines and replacing wires of taps of overhead lines in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire. In addition, 312 thousand kWh of electricity were saved for household needs.
“The implementation of the program measures is aimed at reducing costs in the transmission of electricity to consumers, reducing production losses. The released funds are used to improve the quality and reliability of power supply for the region’s residents,” stressed Alexander Pozdnyakov, the head of the department for energy conservation and energy efficiency.
The expected effect of the implementation of the energy conservation and energy efficiency program at Kurskenergo in 2019 will be about 3.8 million kWh.
