Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Voronezhenergo” pay special attention to quality control of supplied electricity and its compliance with GOST requirements. Since the beginning of 2019, the power engineers have conducted over 1,000 planned measurements of various parameters of electricity, and also performed about 100 inspections at the request of consumers. According to their results, over 117 various technical measures aimed at improving the quality of energy supply were completed at Voronezhenergo’s facilities for 7 months of the current year, another 46 are planned to be completed before the end of 2019.
The result of the coordinated work of the Voronezh power engineers is an annual decrease in the number of consumers’ calls related to the quality of electricity by an average of 3-5% compared to the previous year.
The specialists of the Voronezh branch of Rosseti Centre note that voltage deviations from standard levels in most cases are associated with an ever-increasing load on electric grids and are mainly recorded in rapidly developing districts of the region, for example Novousmansky, Semiluksky, Ramonsky, Khokholsky, as well as in the suburbs of Voronezh, where mass housing construction is carried out.
To ensure the voltage level in accordance with the requirements of GOST, Voronezhenergo’s specialists work to increase the capacity of power lines: they install wires of a larger cross section, additional transformer substations and transformers of greater power, transfer consumers to other power lines and unbundle existing lines.
Often the reason for the decline in the quality of supplied electricity is actions of unscrupulous consumers. During regular and unscheduled inspections the power engineers repeatedly revealed facts of residents connecting powerful power installations (for example, electric heating of pools and greenhouses, pumping stations, welding machines, often home-made) that exceed the installed capacity allowed for use and defined in the documents on connection to electric grid facilities. Such actions have a significant impact on the transmission capacity of electric grids, lead to power surges and failure of household appliances, not only for an unscrupulous tenant, and, in some cases, for his neighbours. For such consumers, the grid company is forced to install special power limiters at the input to the home ownership.
The power engineers remind residents of the Voronezh region of the need to timely submit an application for an increase in allowed capacity, since in this case the grid company calculates operating modes of power equipment and voltage losses taking into account the prospective load of the consumer, and, if necessary, takes measures to increase the capacity of electric grids.
