28.08.2019

The branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” took part in solemn mourning events dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Zubtsov from Nazi invaders.

Commemorative rallies and ceremonies for the transfer and burial of the remains of dead soldiers were held at the Memorial complex in the city of Zubtsov and the military burial in the village of Verigino.

The memorial events were attended by veterans, relatives of the dead soldiers, members of search squads and patriotic organizations from different parts of the country, government officials, as well as residents and guests of Zubtsovsky district.

The head of Zubtsovsky district, Elena Nikolaeva, thanked the participants in the mourning rally, representatives of search associations, the scientific and economic community for their significant contribution to the restoration and preservation of historical memory: “It is gratifying to realize people’s indifference to this large and important work. This year we are returning to relatives the remains of three defenders of the Zubtsov land for burial at home in the Sverdlovsk region. And with due honours, we will bury the remains of 272 Soviet soldiers returned from battlefields as a result of search expeditions this season.”

For more than 5 years, Tver power engineers have been helping the “Horizon” tourist search club, which operates at the National Research University MPEI, in organizing the improvement of military memorials and conducting a burial ceremony.

The burial and transfer of the remains were attended by employees of Tverenergo and members of the “Atlas” student energy crew. Deputy Director for Sale and Development of Services Anton Balakin spoke at the rally on behalf of the staff of the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre.

“In the battles near Zubtsov more than 42 thousand defenders of the Fatherland gave their lives, making a significant contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany. On this historically memorable day, Tverenergo’s employees also join the commemorative events, expressing respect and reverence to all those who fell on the battlefields and who died as defenders of the Zubtsov land. The branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”, together with the younger generation of power engineers, expresses gratitude to the Administration of Zubtsovsky District for the opportunity to participate in the patriotic memorial action and historical memory of the immortal past of those whose feat became the embodiment of courage and selfless love for the Motherland.”
