Lipetskenergo’s specialists talked about the energy-efficient technologies of Rosseti Centre at a regional forum

28.08.2019

Within the framework of the festival #TogetherBrighter, professionals discussed the infrastructural development of energy-saving technologies in the region.

How to make the Lipetsk region energy efficient at a regional forum was discussed by heads of enterprises of the fuel and energy complex, executive authorities and higher educational institutions. The professionals paid special attention to energy service contracts and modernization of the street lighting system. Representatives of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” made a report there. The power engineers actively work in both of these areas.

Lipetskenergo carries out work on the modernization of street lighting in cities and villages of the Lipetsk region jointly with the executive authorities. The power engineers conducted an audit of the entire system. It turned out that in addition to critical wear and tear, street lighting is extremely expensive for budgets of municipalities: bills are issued for each installed lighting fixture, regardless of whether it actually burns or not. The result of the analytical work was a roadmap for the modernization of the entire lighting system.

As part of this plan, the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” replaced 3,181 outdated street lighting fixtures with modern LED. This reduced lighting costs by four times. They replaced 105 kilometres of wire with modern self-insulated. The power engineers installed 228 “smart” metering cabinets that not only accurately record power consumption, but also turn on and off the light depending on the level of illumination. The lighting system was modernized in 56 settlements of ten districts of the Lipetsk region. The work was started in 2018 and continues to this day.

Also, at the forum, a report was made by the head of the electricity metering department of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” Vadim Negrobov on the implementation of energy service contracts in the region:

“Until the end of the year, at the initiative of Rosseti Centre in the territory of the Lipetsk region, more than 22 thousand “Fobos” meters will be installed. According to calculations, this will save us 76 million kWh per year. Most of the work on installing the smart metering system has been completed and, as practice shows, electricity losses at existing sites have decreased by a quarter,” said Vadim Negrobov.

The participants of the “Energy Efficient Region” Forum highly appreciated the contribution of Rosseti Centre to the creation of energy-saving infrastructure in the Lipetsk region.
