Lipetsk energy students completed their labour semester

23.08.2019

Members of construction crews of Rosseti Centre revealed a new way to hide real readings of metering devices.

25 students from five secondary and higher educational institutions of the Lipetsk region this summer worked at energy facilities in the region. The branch of “Rosseti Centre” formed three construction crews: “12 kW of Youth”, “Iskra” and “Dielectrics”. The future power engineers worked in Zadonsky, Krasninsky, Lipetsky, Izmalkovsky, Dankovsky and Chaplyginsky districts. They participated in nine instrumental inspections of legal entities, and authorized 46 smart metering devices as part of an energy service contract. In addition, the students took readings from 621 individuals. It was this work that brought them the most surprises:

“We found both magnets in the meters and devices that stop metering devices. What people just do not come up with to pay less for electricity! But most of all we were surprised by the number of wasps’ nests in electricity meters. You open the lid, and there is a whole swarm. We even thought that people specifically breed wasps in order to complicate the work of power engineers as much as possible, and it was scary to take readings,” said Yevgeny Rodionov, a member of the “Iskra” student crew, who shared his impressions of the work.

The members of the construction crews of Lipetskenergo also took part in the bike ride to identify facts of energy theft #StopEnergythief, during which they revealed three suspicious connections to grids of Rosseti Centre. The future power engineers set up the “Safe Summer” campaign - they held funny lessons in electrical safety in three kindergartens and a children’s recreation camp. Also, on the initiative of the students, the action “Books for Libraries” was held in the branch. More than a hundred children’s and adult art publications were transferred to library collections of Lipetsk.
