Kostromaenergo: emergency exercises in Buisky district were successful

24.08.2019

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” completed large-scale three-week exercises for working out interaction during emergency response in the power grid complex of Buisky district ahead of schedule. They were attended by crews of distribution grid specialists from ten Distribution Zones of Kostromaenergo - a total of about 60 people and 20 specialized vehicles. The exercises were aimed at improving the reliability of power supply to consumers in the upcoming heating period and reducing losses in grids.

The power engineers carried out pruning of branches of threatening trees in security zones of overhead lines, performed work to replace 20 km of bare wire with high-strength and durable self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), installed about 200 modern sets for electricity metering.

Active assistance in working out the interaction of specialists in emergency response was provided by the administration of the town of Buy and Buisky district. Local authorities allocated additional equipment for the removal of logging residues to the landfill. The competent setup of the work allowed to complete the exercises ahead of schedule.

“Due to the division of the general task into stages on a territorial basis and the organization of the work of the crews in sectors, it was possible to complete the exercises a week earlier than the scheduled time. The measures taken will reduce the number of emergency blackouts in the 0.4 kV grid and the loss of electricity, as well as improve the quality of supplied electric energy to consumers,” stressed Andrey Meluzov, the head of the training headquarters.

“The exercises made it possible to develop practical skills for quick response to emergency situations and recovery in the shortest possible time of energy supply in any district of the Kostroma region. Well-coordinated actions of our specialists will become a decisive factor for the fastest possible elimination of emergency situations and the restoration of power supply to consumers, especially in the autumn-winter period,” noted Dmitry Prokhorov, Deputy General Director and Director of the branch of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo at the training closing ceremony.

Please, be reminded that the decision to conduct the exercises was made following a meeting of the Headquarters of Kostromaenergo, where reports on the state of failures in 0.4-10 kV grids of Buisky district and on the need to take measures to repair distribution grids to eliminate the causes of outages were heard.
