Lipetsk power engineers control the quality of electricity supplied

15.08.2019

Since the beginning of the year, specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” performed a total of 1,180 measurements of electricity quality indicators.

In order to provide consumers of the Lipetsk region with high-quality power supply, employees of Lipetskenergo constantly conduct incoming, periodic and unscheduled monitoring of the quality parameters of electricity supplied to consumers.

During the period from January to July 2019, the branch’s power engineers conducted 1,072 control checks of electricity quality indicators both at the branch’s power facilities and at facilities of customers’ enterprises. In addition to the planned measurements, 108 inspections of electricity quality indicators were unplanned based on consumers’ complaints about electricity quality.

The power engineers use specialized equipment to measure the parameters of energy. Diagnostics of the quality of electricity for compliance with established standards requires specialized equipment. There are currently 33 units of modern devices in the arsenal of Lipetskenergo’s specialists, such as “Proryv-KE-A”, “Proryv-T-A”, “Resurs-UF2M”, which provide ample opportunities for analyzing power quality indicators. All measuring instruments were certified in accordance with the requirements of GOST 32144-2013. Since the beginning of the year, 1,249 measuring instruments, including 13 instruments of electric power quality analyzers, have been prepared and sent to the certified centre for standardization and metrology. Forces of the branch conducted calibration of 421 measuring instruments.

“The reasons for the violation of indicators of the quality of electricity can be the condition of power supply systems, as well as consumer or municipal electrical networks. In the process of identifying existing and potential problems with the quality of electricity, the timeliness of their solution is extremely important. Otherwise, they can get out of control and lead to a malfunction or damage to electrical equipment,” stressed Vadim Yakovlev, the head of the metrology and electricity quality department of a branch of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo.
