The branch “Rosseti Centre Tambovenergo”* carries out systematic work to increase the reliability of power supply to consumers in the Tambov кegion. An important place in it is given to technical measures, including the replacement of taps of inputs leading from power lines to households, using self-supporting insulated wire (SIW). In the first half of 2019, Tambovenergo’s specialists replaced 927 entries with a total length of 24.1 kilometres. First of all, the work was carried out in the most energy-intensive and problem sections, including where customers’ calls were recorded regarding the quality of electricity.
“Thanks to the insulation, the SIW wire has much higher strength and resistance compared to conventional wire. Its use at inputs to households allows to exclude unauthorized connections to grids for the purpose of energy theft: as practice shows, most cases of theft attempts are made precisely on these sections of lines. In addition, the use of self-supporting insulated wire allows to prevent breaks due to sticking and freezing of snow and ice and to exclude cases of electrical injuries,” stressed Deputy General Director - Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Tambovenergo” Nikolay Bogomolov.
In the second half of 2019, the power engineers plan to replace 820 inputs to households using the SIW wire.
* From June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers will use the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
