The branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” continues to modernize the electricity metering system. As part of the implementation of measures to reduce electric energy losses as of 19 July 2019, the branch installed more than 5.9 thousand new generation metering devices. They were installed in Gagarinsky, Vyazemsky, Safonovsky and Yartsevsky Distribution Zones of the branch.
These are modern high-tech electricity metering devices that have the function of hourly multi-tariff electricity metering, power control and other parameters necessary for the consumer to plan electricity consumption and optimize electricity payments. In addition, the new electricity metering devices have several advantages not only for consumers, but also for the grid company: they are highly sensitive, provide remote control of electric power quality parameters and reliability of power supply, remote readings, disconnection of non-payers at the request of the energy sale company, and control of power consumption, allow track the source of losses and stop attempts to steal electricity. By the end of the year, it is planned to install a total of about 16 thousand such metering devices in the Smolensk region. Most of all new devices will appear in Yartsevsky and Roslavlsky districts.
“Since the beginning of the year, a large amount of work has been done on installing smart meters in four districts of the region. In total, nine districts will be equipped with smart devices by the end of the year. We carry out the installation of multifunctional measuring sets within the framework of the branch’s energy service contracts, the implementation of which will significantly reduce the number of facts of non-contractual and non-metered energy consumption in the future,” stresses Deputy Director for Sale and Development of Services of Smolenskenergo Oleg Bonadysev.
