Kurskenergo’s specialists continue to conduct electrical safety lessons in children’s health camps in the region

29.07.2019

Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” within the framework of the federal project “Literate Consumer School” conducted a series of electrical safety lessons in children’s health camps. In particular, the events were held in the sports and recreation centre named after V. Tereshkova and the children’s health camp named after Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. More than 270 children aged from 9 to 15 years old participated in the lessons.

The power engineers told the children about the importance of observing the rules of safe handling of electricity. They showed warning and prohibition signs installed on electrical equipment and explained their meaning. The children learned what a threat to their lives are faulty electrical appliances and bare wires, why it is forbidden to climb poles and make selfies there, catch fish near power lines.

The practical part of the lessons was of particular interest to the children, during which the power engineers demonstrated the techniques of rendering first aid to the victim from the action of electric current on a mannequin simulator. At the end of the lesson, all those present were able to try on real energy equipment - gloves, a hard hat and boots.

“Such thematic classes are necessary and extremely important for the children,” stressed the deputy head on the educational work of the children’s health camp named after Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya Ekaterina Atrepieva. “The knowledge gained in an emergency will help them save their lives.”

The lessons of electrical safety are one of the most important activities of the program to reduce the risk of injury to third parties at power facilities of the branch. Kurskenergo’s specialists conduct them throughout the year in schools and children’s health camps in Kursk and the Kursk region.
