Kostromaenergo reconstructs a substation in Nerekhtsky district with implementation of digital technologies

Power engineers of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” started the development of a project for reconstruction of the 110/35/10/6 kV “Nerekhta-1” substation in the city of Nerekhta of the Kostroma region. The substation was identified as a pilot for the implementation of the “Digital Substation” project within the framework of the implementation of the concept of PJSC Rosseti “Digital Transformation 2030”.

“Nerekhta-1” is a key feeding centre of the city of Nerekhta and Nerekhtsky district of the Kostroma region. As part of the digital transformation, a full-fledged universal digital platform will be created here that will serve as a model for the further modernization of the power system of the entire region. As a result of equipping it with modern equipment and control systems, one hundred percent observability will be provided, metering will be automated, the reliability of power supply to consumers will increase.

The amount of investment in the project will be 737 million rubles. The reconstruction of the 110/35/10/6 kV “Nerekhta-1” substation is planned to be completed by 2023.

“Building a digital electrical grid with a qualitatively new controllability characteristics is our top priority aiming at improving the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers. This will require the formation of a new infrastructure in order to ensure guaranteed transmission of electric energy and create conditions for a competitive market of related services,” stressed First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kostromaenergo Evgeny Smirnov.
