The branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” installed 13 thousand smart meters

The smart metering system is being installed in seven districts of the Lipetsk region.

Power engineers are now installing “Phobos” meters in Lipetsky, Gryazinsky, Dobrovsky, Yeletsky, Lev-Tolstovsky and Chaplyginsky districts. By the end of the year, there will be more than 22 thousand of them in the grids of the region. For example, in Chaplyginsky district, the smart metering system is fully installed. Two and a half thousand meters were installed on poles at the points of wire taps to private homes.

Each consumer is given a console, which shows how much energy he used, as well as the voltage in the grid and the power of electricity. The cost of installing metering devices, the purchase of consoles is borne by Lipetskenergo, no additional costs are required by residents. From the moment the split meter is commissioned, readings of this particular device will be used in billing. The meter, which was previously installed by the consumer, may remain with him.

“The consumer receives for free a new metering device with a high accuracy class, with a verification interval of 16 years and a service life of at least 32 years. It can use automatic protection against voltage drops for free. And, finally, the client can independently choose the most favourable tariff: single rate or day/night. These are the three main criteria for the quality of the “Phobos” meters,” said Vadim Negrobov, the head of the electricity metering department of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo”.

Also, in the list of advantages of the split-meters, the power engineers call convenience of reading - the metering device does this automatically. Thus, it is guaranteed to protect consumers from high charges in the account due to an error in the transfer of readings.

Residents of the Lipetsk region, who have installed a smart meter, are exempt from the duty of checking the metering device, since Lipetskenergo will now operate them.
