Specialists of the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre organized a lesson on electrical safety in a children’s summer camp

17.07.2019

Tverenergo’s employees visited the “Tvertsa” summer camp in the Tver region, where they gave a lesson on prevention of electrical injuries. The participants of the event were about 60 children resting in the camp, aged 7 to 11 years, as well as their educators and counselors.

Specialists of the Tver branch reminded the children that now it was summer and, walking with friends in their free time, in no case should one penetrate transformer substations, try to open doors in them. If dangling wires lying on the ground are found in the street, it is necessary to move to a safe distance of 8 metres. The children studied what a “goose step” is and learned that, while at home, you cannot touch electrical appliances, especially with wet hands, you cannot play with the wiring and sockets.

During the lesson, the children asked Tverenergo’s employees questions with interest, entered into lively dialogues, telling that they themselves always tried to follow the electrical safety rules. To consolidate their knowledge, the children were shown a cartoon “The Adventures of Voltik” on the rules for safe handling of electricity.

The “Gosha” mannequin simulator, equipped with sensors for effective resuscitation, caused particular delight among the children. The indicative resuscitation of the dummy, “injured by an electric shock”, was carried out by Yulia Goncharova, the lead engineer of the labour protection service of the industrial safety and production control office of the branch. In this case, the children actively asked questions, and they were given the opportunity to practice themselves on the simulator.

In order to assimilate the lecture material, colourful posters were left at the camp, which in a simple but interesting form reflect the importance of observing electrical safety rules.

Work on the prevention of electrical injuries among children and adolescents is particularly relevant during the summer holidays, when children spend more time in the street without adult supervision. Therefore, throughout the summer period, the power engineers of the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” plan to conduct lessons in children’s health and school camps in the entire region.
