The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” summed up the work on prevention of children’s electrical injuries for 6 months of 2019.
One of its most important components is lessons on electrical safety. Over the past six months, Kostromaenergo’s experts conducted over 370 such classes in more than a hundred educational institutions of the Kostroma region. About 6 thousand children and teenagers became their participants.
The power engineers told the schoolchildren about the basic rules of electrical safety and the importance of warning signs installed on electrical equipment, demonstrated first aid techniques to the victim from the effects of electric current. The guys found out what danger is posed by faulty electrical appliances and bare wires, why it is impossible to climb power line poles, enter the territory of substations, approach broken wires. Thematic videos, as well as contests and quizzes helped consolidate the knowledge gained. At the end of the lessons, the participants were given specialized thematic brochures and posters. In addition to the lessons, tours to power facilities of Kostromaenergo were organized for high school students and students of technical schools, during which the young people were introduced to the rules of conduct near electrical installations.
Active preventive work continues in the summer months in school and country camps for children’s activities. Since the beginning of the summer, the power engineers together with staff of the Emergencies Ministry, the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Association, the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Kostroma region, the Federal National Guard Troops Service within the framework of the “Safe Holiday” campaign and the “Territory of Childhood” city program held 10 route games here. About 1,500 children took part in them. Until the end of summer, Kostromaenergo plans about 25 events with schoolchildren.
