Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” carry out systematic work on prevention of electrical injuries. One of the important components of this work is lessons of electrical safety, which specialists of the branch conduct during the school year in schools, and with the onset of summer holidays - in children’s health camps. Since the beginning of the summer about 1,500 schoolchildren have taken part in them.
In June-July, lessons on electrical safety were held in Korenevsky, Belovsky, Glushkovsky, Cheremisinovsky, Manturovsky, Konyshevsky, Lgovsky, Bolshesoldatsky, Timsky, Oboyansky, Sudzhansky districts of the Kursk region. Last week, another thematic lesson was held in the children’s recreation camp “Solnyshko” in the village of Srednie Apochka in Gorshechensky district.
The branch’s specialists conduct conversations with schoolchildren about the significance of electricity in modern life, about the danger posed by electrical current, and the rules for handling electrical appliances. Schoolchildren are reminded why it is impossible to approach broken wires, climb power line poles, break into the territory of electrical substations, take a “selfie” near power facilities. At the training simulator “Gosha” Kurskenergo’s employees show how resuscitation measures are carried out if a person is struck by electric current. At the same time, the energy workers remind children that if they have witnessed an accident, under no circumstances should they themselves provide assistance to the person under voltage, but immediately call for help an adult person or call the rescue service 112.
“Thematic lessons are useful and cause a lively interest among the children’s audience. This important preventive work needs to be continued,” stresses the director of the municipal educational institution “Ostaninskaya middle school” of Manturovsky district of the Kursk region Marina Raevskaya.
Until the end of the summer, Kurskenergo’s experts plan to conduct about 20 electrical safety lessons in children’s health camps in the region.
