Belgorodenergo’s engineer took part in the charity project “Bridge of Trust”

15.07.2019

An engineer of “Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo” became a participant in a charitable project to introduce the social practice of mentoring “Bridge of Trust”, implemented on the basis of the Rehabilitation Centre for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities. The relay protection and automation engineer Alexander Patsev and the 10th grade pupil of the Near Igumen secondary school Deniz Mikailov together understood the nature of the energy industry and mastered the basics of the profession.

According to Deniz, he chose the energy industry, because he cannot imagine the modern world without light. “Being a power engineer is a very popular profession and I wanted to figure it out. In the course of classes, I realized that this is also one of the most interesting fields of activity, I learned a lot of useful things and always went to classes with pleasure,” he noted.

The student and the teacher together outlined a training plan, identified the most interesting topics, planned and conducted more than 20 interesting sessions on the chosen specialization. During the collaboration, a strong friendship ensued between them, and the teacher learned a lot from his pupil.

“Participation in the “Bridge of Trust” project was a unique life experience for me,” Alexander Patsev shared his impressions. “At first it was not easy, but after several meetings we already found a common language and successfully began to adapt our program for specific needs. I want to note that not only my pupil studied, but also myself. I learned to evaluate the reaction, feel the feedback, learn patience. One of the clearest examples is the TOP-10 “most-most” objects on each topic that have become our tradition. Deniz’s eyes lit up when I first brought the rating of the largest solar power plants. I am sure that the acquired knowledge will be useful to him in the future, no matter what path of life he chooses. I admire Denise, his hard work, perseverance, desire to understand the topic under study. And he knows five languages! It’s great.”

For good cooperation in the implementation of rehabilitation activities for children with disabilities, the active support of the social project for the introduction of mentoring “Bridge of Trust”, the Rehabilitation Centre for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities expressed Belgorodenergo thanks.

In general, more than 40 people became participants in the project aimed at socializing and vocational guidance for children and adolescents. Volunteers represented 15 organizations, including the Belgorod State Philharmonic Society, BelSU National Research University, PROPlyvi Swimming School, Centre for Adaptive Sports and Physical Culture, Children’s Art School.

At the final seminar, the children and their mentors summed up the many months of teamwork, told how they were trained, shared their successes, and exchanged impressions. All agreed that the project “Bridge of Trust” helped the children with disabilities get closer to the dream and realize themselves as an individual.
