Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo began designing a unified grid control centre

10.07.2019

Power engineers online will monitor 34 thousand kilometres of power lines.

The Lipetsk branch of Rosseti Centre began the development of a project for a large-scale modernization of the operational and technological management system of the region’s electric grid complex. To date, the state of power lines of the Lipetsk region is observed from 20 control points, they are in each district. The creation of a unified grid control centre (UGCC) will allow to monitor and manage all power grids of the region from one point. Reforming the system of operational and technological management is one of the key projects of the Digital Transformation Concept 2030 and the Concept of Development of the System of Operational and Technological and Situational Management in the electric grid complex of PJSC Rosseti.

“The UGCC will be equipped with digital communication channels and modern information systems. This will allow on-line monitoring of the state of power grid facilities up to 110 kV, analysis of power quality parameters and current voltage data at the consumer. In addition, the project provides for integration with the “hot line” of power engineers. It is expected that as a result of the project implementation, the response time to a technological violation will be reduced by two times,” explained Sergey Koval, Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo”.

The UGCC will be located in the central building of the branch in Lipetsk and will occupy one of the floors. Two dozen dispatchers will work at the same time. Currently, the design and estimate documentation is being developed, and by the end of 2021, the Lipetsk electric grid complex will be managed in a new format.
