Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo increased the frequency of raids to combat energy thieves

03.07.2019

For five months of this year, the branch of the company revealed 422 cases of non-metered and non-contractual consumption. As a result, theft of electricity worth more than 34 million rubles was prevented.

Please, be reminded that since 9 June 2019, amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation entered into force. Fines for repeated unauthorized connection to electric grids, as well as unauthorized (non-metered) use of electricity have doubled. Now citizens are fined from 15 to 30 thousand rubles. In addition to tightening sanctions for individuals, the changes affected other categories of consumers. For repeated unauthorized connection to power grids, as well as unauthorized (non-metered) use of electricity, officials will pay from 80 to 200 thousand rubles, or will be disqualified for a period from two to three years. Fines for organizations - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles.

So, the owner of a private house in the village of Burdino of Izmalkovsky district, on his own connected electricity. It was found out by power engineers of Rossetti Centre Lipetskenergo during the raid on the fight against losses in the electric grids. The power engineers de-energized the villager, made up the act of non-contractual consumption in the amount of 24 thousand rubles. However, after a while the man again connected to the grid. This time he was billed for 26 thousand, the documents were sent to the police to initiate an administrative offense case. For unauthorized connection to power grids, the court fined the man 15 thousand rubles. This happened in early 2019. Today, the villager had to pay by the court twice as much. The same goes for a resident of the village of Preobrazhenka, who twice was caught with the fact that most of electrical appliances in the house were connected bypassing the meter.

“Energy theft is a serious problem not only for our region. This is proved by changes in legislation. It happens that the crew disconnects the consumer who without authorization uses electricity, drives off from his house, and he immediately connects again. Now we can punish such actions with serious fines. As soon as employees reveal a fact of non-metered or non-contractual consumption, they draw up a standard package of documents, including a statement to the police, which is then sent to court, said the head of the electricity metering department of Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo Vadim Negrobov.

The power engineers draw the attention of residents of the region to the fact that energy theft is one of the main causes of voltage drops and interruptions in the supply of energy. You can report facts of possible violations of the law by calling the round-the-clock hotline at 8-800-50-50-115, the call is toll-free.
