03.07.2019

Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division summed up the competition for the “Best Scientific Project” among scientific works of bachelors and masters in the field of electric power systems and grids of the Department “Electric Power Systems” of the branch of the National Research University MPEI in the city of Smolensk.

The central competition commission of Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division included Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation - Head of High-Voltage Grids Office Yury Krivtsov and Head of the Electric Modes Service Alexey Magon. The commission also included the management of the branch of Moscow Power Engineering Institute in the city of Smolensk.

According to the results of the competition, winners and prize-winners in several nominations were determined. Among masters diplomas of degree I were awarded in the nomination “Best Scientific Project in the Field of Automated Control Systems, Relay Protection and Automatic Equipment and AMR” to Alexander Galushko for the project “Research of modern voltage measuring transducers in high-voltage electrical installations” and Anastasia Koroleva for the project “Research on the use of integrated measurement signals information in devices of relay protection and automation”. In the nomination “Best Scientific Project in the Field of Technical Solutions and Technologies for Power Transmission Lines, Substations, Distribution and Interconnecting Points”, Nadezhda Petrova received the I degree diploma for the research “Development and research of the wireless power transmission system model”. Diplomas of degree II were awarded to Artem Ageev in the nomination “Best Scientific Project in the Field of Technical Solutions and Technologies for Power Transmission Lines, Substations, Distribution and Interconnecting Points” for the project “Designing an autonomous power supply system on direct current” and Vladislav Goryachev in the nomination “Best Scientific Project in the Field of Automated Control Systems, Relay Protection and Automatic Equipment and AMR” on the topic “Research of current and voltage measuring devices in DC installations”.

Among bachelors diplomas of degree I were awarded to Anton Samulchenkov in the nomination “Best Scientific Project in the Field of Technical and Organizational Measures to Reduce electricity Losses in Electric Grids” for his scientific work “Development of methods and programs for calculating the steady state of electric grids based on evolutionary algorithms”.

“We have been holding such contests for the final qualification works of bachelors and masters in the field of electrical power systems and grids in the branch for more than a year. The main task for us is the development of professional competencies of graduates, the improvement of professionally significant personal qualities of future power engineers, the creation of conditions for the professional development and creative self-realization of students. The competition is designed to identify and support the best innovators, talented students who are able not only to develop an innovative idea, but also to offer real steps for its implementation in production. This year, the works of the winners of the competition are scientific projects in which new technical solutions and technologies for power engineering are presented,” commented Alla Korolkova, the head of Smolenskenergo’s HR department.
