02.07.2019

The main theme of the exposition of Rosseti Centre - Kurskenergo division at the 19th Interregional Kursk Korenskaya Fair, held on 28-30 June 2019 in the Kursk region, is the digital transformation of electric grids.

Information stands and interactive presentations told about digital solutions of power engineers to participants and guests of the fair. The key activities of the first stage of the digital transformation of Kurskenergo are the creation of a digital Distribution Zone, digital substations, the development of digital radio communications and the formation of a single control centre for grids of all voltage classes.

One of the main directions of the implementation of the Digital Distribution Zone project will be the construction of a 6-10 kV smart grid based on intelligent switching devices, which allow locating fault in real time, automatically highlighting the faulty section while maintaining power supply in the intact sections. To this end, specialists will install 120 reclosers, 99 remote-controlled motor-driven disconnectors, 95 short-circuit indicators on overhead lines of Kursky Distribution Zone.

“After that, the average restoration time of power supply to consumers will decrease to 1 hour. And the fault isolation time will decrease from 1.5 hours today, when the crew goes to the faulty section and switches it off manually, to one minute, since the switching will take place automatically,” stressed Alexander Rudnevsky, Deputy General Director of Rosseti Centre - Kurskenergo division director.

Kurskenergo’s exposition at the Kursk Korenskaya Fair was visited by Deputy Governor of the Kursk Region Maxim Beskhmelnitsyn, who oversees issues of digital development and communication of the Kursk region. He emphasized the special significance for the region of projects of digital transformation of electric grids and wished Kurskenergo success in their implementation.

Kurskenergo’s specialists conducted electrical safety lessons, organized drawing competitions on asphalt “Energy from the eyes of children” and “I choose safety!” for young visitors to the fair as part of the annual campaign “Territory of Safety” aimed at organizing safe stay of children in country rest camps. The children with diligence drew with coloured chalk poles, power lines, houses with lighted windows, electricians at work. Following the results of the contests, all its participants were presented with prizes and memos with the basic rules on electrical safety.

For the period of the fair in the Kursk branch of Rosseti Centre, additional measures were taken to ensure the reliability of the power supply of the pavilions. The round-the-clock duty of the emergency recovery crews was organized, additional power sources were installed, special equipment was on permanent duty. All this made it possible to provide the fair participants and guests with comfortable conditions for conducting negotiations, exchanging experience, and concluding agreements.

* From June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers will use the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
