The sixth labour season of student construction crews started in Smolenskenergo

Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division launched the sixth labour season of student construction crews. The solemn opening ceremony traditionally took place on the basis of the National Research University “MPEI” in the city of Smolensk.

Heads of Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division and educational institutions made parting words in front of the students. In his welcoming speech, the head of the distribution grids department of Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division, Nikolay Kireenko, noted that work experience in the construction crew is an excellent opportunity to gain practical skills and learn the energy profession from the inside.

This year, 28 students of the National Research University “MPEI” (construction crew “Energet”) joined the ranks of construction workers, as well as 23 students of specialized specialties at secondary vocational schools of the Smolensk region (construction crew “Phoenix”) - Smolensk Polytechnic Technical School, Yartsevsky Industrial Technical School, Roslavlsky Versatile College, Safonovsky Branch of APO, Vyazemsky Polytechnic College, Vyazma Railway College.

The students will work as part of cable line crews, distribution grid operation crews, participate in taking readings of electricity metering devices, and work with technical documentation. A fixed-term labor contract was concluded with each member of the construction crew for the period from 01.07.2019 to 16.08.2019.

Before starting work, all construction workers will be trained in the office of industrial safety and production control in accordance with a typical pre-examination training program, will be pass a test of knowledge of occupational safety requirements and will receive group II on electrical safety and only after that they will be allowed to work. Each of them will be assigned a mentor from among experienced employees of the company, who will carry out methodical and practical guidance of the work.

*- From June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers will use the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
