Belgorodenergo proceeded to transfer vehicles to gas engine fuel

27.06.2019

Rosseti Centre - Belgorodenergo has launched a pilot project to convert motor vehicles to natural gas vehicle fuel. According to the approved roadmap, 51 vehicles of the branch will be converted to compressed natural gas (methane) this year. In total, by the end of 2021, it is planned to transfer 212 vehicles to this type of fuel.

In the service of mechanization and transport, they have already begun to equip the first batch of passenger cars and cargo-passenger cars. According to experts, this will reduce fuel costs and increase the life of the engine. In addition, additional benefits will be the reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and the regionally accepted 50 percent reduction in the vehicle tax rate.

122 people will be trained on the driver training program for work on cars with gas equipment in the current year.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Belgorod Region and Rosseti Centre, signed on 7 December last year by Governor Yevgeny Savchenko and General Director of the company Igor Makovskiy. Over the next three years, it is planned to transfer about 25% of cars to gas.

Please, be reminded that since 2019, a pilot project has been implemented in the region to intensively develop the gas engine fuel market. It is part of the federal program for the development of the natural gas vehicle fuel market. For three years in the region they are going to build over 30 gas stations, more than 20 service stations for maintaining and transferring cars to gas.

*- From June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers will use the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
