Rosseti Centre - Kostromaenergo division summed up the production activities for 5 months of 2019. During this period, the company exceeded the plan for a number of key indicators. The net electricity supply amounted to 1,036.7 million kWh, which is 9.5 million kWh higher than the parameters of the business plan. Revenue from electricity transmission services amounted to 2,222.5 million rubles. The level of losses in grids was 11.70%, which is 0.55% lower than the similar indicators of the last year (in comparable conditions) and 0.6% lower than the planned indicators. The savings amounted to 8 million kWh or 14.2 million rubles.
Kostromaenergo's organizational and technical measures to reduce electric energy losses contributed to the achievement of this result.
The greatest effect is brought by raids on identification of non-metered electricity consumption, conducted by personnel of Distribution Zones and electricity metering departments of the company’s branches, including in cooperation with specialists of the security unit. In January-May 2019, 7 million kWh of electricity stolen by unscrupulous consumers, totalling 18.7 million rubles, was included in the net electricity supply of the branch.
The number of effective technical measures to reduce losses includes the redistribution of loads and the disconnection of unloaded transformers at substations, the installation of a larger cross-section wire on overloaded power lines, and the installation of self-supporting insulated wires on lines. The funds saved by Kostromaenergo as a result of the implementation of measures aimed at reducing electricity losses are used as an additional source of financing for solving the priority tasks that the branch faces.
