Employees of Tambovenergo commemorate those fallen in World War II

24.06.2019

Employees of Rosseti Centre - Tambovenergo division took part in events dedicated to the Day of Memory and Grief. On this day, at 4 o’clock in the morning at the Cathedral Square near the Eternal Flame memorial complex, the power engineers together with the townspeople observed a minute of silence, then lit candles in memory of each soldier, officer, nurse — all those who defended the Homeland during World War II.

Tambovenergo’s employees also took part in the All-Russian military patriotic event “Handful of Memory”, which took place in the working settlement of Novaya Lyada in the Tambov region. The power engineers laid wreaths and flowers at the mass grave of pilots who died during the Great Patriotic War. As part of the action, land was taken from a mass grave, which, with military honours, will be placed in artillery shells and installed in the historical and memorial complex of the Main Church of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

“22 June is one of the most mournful and tragic dates in our history. It took millions of lives, bringing trouble and suffering. With our sorrow, we pay tribute and memory to those who accomplished a great feat, giving their lives for a peaceful and independent future, to those who went through all the war. For us, this is a story of valour, high patriotism and fortitude,” stressed Deputy General Director of Rosseti Centre - Tambovenergo division director Nikolay Bogomolov.
