Tverenergo’s employees took part in the “Candle of Memory” campaign

On the Day of Memory and Grief, in the early morning of 22 June, employees of the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre with the support of the Primary Trade Union Organization became participants in the All-Russian patriotic action “Candle of Memory”.

At 4 o’clock in the morning, at the Victory Obelisk in Tver, the power engineers lit candles of memory, expressing their solidarity and respect for those who died on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War.

The Government and the Diocese of the Tver region, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the volunteer movement, youth and residents of the city of Tver took part in the action. The memory of the fallen soldiers was honoured with a minute of silence.

“I’m taking part in the Candle of Memory event for the first year and I consider it my duty to pay homage to all those who at the cost of their lives paid for our happy future, bowing to the memory of those who did not see the Victory, but brought it closer as they could!”, commented Yulia Moiseeva, the head of the department for forecasting electricity balance, capacity and loss analysis of the branch.

After laying flowers at the Obelisk of Victory and the Eternal Flame, the branch’s employees visited several more memorial sites. Among them there was the monument to Stepan Gorobets - Legendary Tank Crew, a fraternal military burial in the village of Migalovo, a memorial complex Cherkassy Military Burial, a military burial in the Volynskoye cemetery. Members of the Youth Council of Tverenergo coordinated the power engineers. Wreaths and candles of memory were also laid at all memorial sites.

Not only young employees but also managers took part in the Candle of Memory. “The action is designed to unite the youth and the older generation, public organizations and residents of the city. The victory was forged by the common efforts of all the peoples of the Soviet Union, the war touched every family of the large country. It is thanks to this unity, friendship of the peoples, we won the Great Victory. On this historically memorable day, the employees of Rosseti Centre - Tverenergo also join the nationwide rally, expressing tribute to the memory, respect and reverent attitude to all those who fell on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, warriors, rear veterans and war children,” stressed the first deputy director of Rosseti Centre - Tverenergo division Andrey Samoilov.
