The best power engineers of central Russia and Volga region to demonstrate their skills in the Lipetsk region

18.06.2019

The professional skills competitions of power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have started. The event involves 20 teams. The competitions are designed for six days. Each team will go through seven stages: from knowledge of current regulatory and technical documentation and extinguishing a fire at a package substation to replacing a defective insulator at an anchor-angle concrete pole of a 10 kV overhead line. The work is evaluated by a jury, which is to determine winners, both in teamwork and in the individual competition. In July, the winners will participate in the competitions of PJSC ROSSETI, which will be held in the Leningrad region.

Crews for repair and maintenance of 0.4 - 10 kV distribution grids are competing on the basis of Lipetskenergo, which supplies electricity directly to homes of consumers and socially important facilities: schools, hospitals, kindergartens, etc.

“For the power engineers the professional skills competitions are the same responsibility as for professional athletes. Employees of the company constantly train, hone their skills. Crews in emergency situations must act very quickly; breaks in electrical supply due to bad weather are counted to one minute. At the same time, work with electrical equipment should be absolutely safe for both crew members and others, that is the tasks are quite complex,” General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, Igor Makovskiy, explained the purpose of the competitions.

Please, be reminded that the professional skills competitions of power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region are held annually. Some of the stages are based on typical production tasks that the power engineers face as part of their daily activities to ensure reliable operation of the grid complex in their service area and grid connection of customers. At other stages, teams will demonstrate the ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
