Voronezhenergo increases the energy efficiency of outdoor lighting in settlements in the region

18.06.2019

Rosseti Centre - Voronezhenergo performs active work to modernize street lighting systems in the Voronezh region. In accordance with the federal legislation, the responsibility for setting up outdoor lighting in populated areas is assigned to local authorities. Voronezhenergo’s specialists provide them with comprehensive support in this matter: from consulting on equipment selection to performing a full range of installation and commissioning works.

Since the beginning of 2019, power engineers in settlements of Kalacheevsky, Povorinsky, Olkhovatsky, Khokholsky and Kamensky districts replaced more than 5,000 lighting fixtures with modern LED ones, and also installed more than 118 switchboards for metering and controlling street lighting. The works were carried out in the framework of agreements concluded with the municipal administrations.

In July, Voronezhenergo’s specialists will install about 600 modern LED lighting fixtures and 40 metering and control cabinets in the urban-type settlement of Upper Mamon. The same month, work will be completed on the installation of 1,680 energy-saving street lighting fixtures and more than 60 metering and control cabinets in the urban-type settlement of Gribanovsky.

“Modern LED lighting fixtures with less power consumption give more illumination area. In addition, their work is remotely controlled by an automated outdoor lighting control system. The use of modern energy-efficient technical solutions and automation systems allows the municipalities to reduce energy consumption, which significantly decreases the burden on the budgets of rural settlements,” stressed Vyacheslav Antonov, the chief engineer of Voronezhenergo.

In total, until the end of 2019, the power engineers of Rosseti Centre - Voronezhenergo will install more than 12.7 thousand LED street lighting fixtures and more than 60 switchboards for metering and controlling street lighting in 120 settlements in the region.
