Smolenskenergo continues to stop facts of illegal consumption of electric energy

Rosseti Centre - Smolenskenergo division continues systematic work to identify facts of theft of electricity through non-contractual or non-metered consumption.

The branch’s employees for 4 months of 2018 carried out a number of measures to prevent non-metered and non-contractual electricity consumption. Among them there are targeted raids, during which verification of metering devices installed at legal entities and persons equal to them is carried out. In total, for the reporting period, during the raids in all districts, the branch’s specialists revealed 133 facts of non-metered energy consumption. The volume of non-metered consumption revealed was 4.412 thousand kWh in the amount of 16.8 million rubles.

The volume of sold (paid) non-metered consumption was 933 thousand kWh for the amount of 2.7 million rubles.

In particular, under 102 facts of non-metered energy consumption by individuals, the company received 371 thousand rubles and 2.17 million rubles under 16 facts of consumption bypassing metering devices by legal entities. Also, 138 thousand rubles were recovered from energy thieves for non-contractual consumption of electricity.

According to all drawn up acts, consumers will have to compensate the damage caused to the energy company within the time limits established by law. In the event of non-payment funds will be recovered forcibly in court.

In accordance with Article 7.19 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, to violators of the energy consumption mode - individuals, in addition to paying for the cost of electricity itself, fines of up to 10-15 thousand rubles are threatened, for officials - up to 30-80 thousand rubles, legal entities - up to 100 -200 thousand rubles. Stronger legal measures are applied to malicious violators - power supply disconnection, administrative or even criminal liability. So unscrupulous consumers can be held criminally liable with the minimum penalty - a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, the maximum - imprisonment for up to 2 years.
