Lipetskenergo works to improve the reliability of electricity supply in the region

13.06.2019

For four months of the current year, power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division cleared more than 217 hectares of protected zones of overhead power lines from trees and shrubs.

According to statistics, a significant part of technological violations at power facilities is due to the fall of branches and trees on wires due to adverse weather conditions. That is why the maintenance of overhead power lines in proper condition is under special control of Lipetskenergo.

Since the beginning of the year, the territory with a total area of 217.57 hectares has been cleared, 7.75 million rubles have been spent on it. By the end of 2019, the branch’s power engineers are planning to clear 678 ha. This is 86 hectares more than a year earlier.

When clearing routes, the Lipetsk power engineers use specialized vehicles - mulchers, which not only cut trees and shrubs, but also grind them into chips. This reduces the risk of surface fires.

Lipetskenergo pays special attention that filing of trees near 0.4 kV power lines in cities and villages of the region is the responsibility of executive authorities. Federal Law No. 131 placed the responsibility for organizing the improvement and landscaping of the territory on the local authorities. That is, administrations of municipalities must cut down trees after agreeing on the date of safe work with the grid company, and then remove the remnants. The power engineers note that cutting down single trees and filing them will help avoid future power outages due to the fall of trees and branches on wires.
