Employees of Belgorodenergo told children about digital energy technologies

06.06.2019

At the beginning of the summer holidays, employees of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division held a bright, informative event for pupils of the regional social rehabilitation centre for children and teenagers with disabilities. The power engineers reminded the children about the electrical safety rules and told about the benefits that new digital technologies will bring, which in the coming years will be implemented in the electric grid complex of the Belgorod region.

The organizers of the event decided to “transform” and simplify the difficult concept of “digital transformation of power grids”. With funny examples, the children were shown how using smart devices and automated systems in the shortest possible time to eliminate any faults in the grids, control the operation of power lines and substations remotely, monitor the state of energy consumption and the work of street lighting without going to the line. According to the power engineers, it is important for the children to understand: digital transformation will allow bringing the grid complex management to a higher level and by several times increasing the reliability of power supply to all consumers in the region.

The younger generation will have to working in the conditions of a new energy reality. At the festival, the children learned about the features of the dangerous and responsible work of the power engineers, about where to get such a profession. And of course, what you need to know so that electricity forever remains just a friend.

Thanks to the playful form, the schoolchildren easily remembered which materials conduct electricity well and which are dielectrics, what constitutes a step-by-step zone and how you can get out of it. They found out why adults forbid playing near transformer substations, power lines, sticking foreign objects or broken electrical appliances into sockets.

“Belgorodenergo’s specialists are frequent guests of our centre. The classes they conduct help bring to the children in such an accessible form a difficult but necessary material. Their lessons are very interesting for the children, because they are not just informative, but bright and fun. It is easier to learn in the form of a game,” said Irina Dolgikh, the director of the social rehabilitation centre for children and teenagers with disabilities.

During the summer season, the power engineers will continue the cycle of entertaining lessons on electrical safety and digital transformation. The nearest event will be held in the framework of the project shift of the Engineering School of NRU BelSU.
