The Tver branch of IDGC of Centre continues to modernize the electricity metering system. As part of the implementation of measures to reduce energy losses, more than 4.5 thousand meters of a new generation have been installed in Ostashkovsky Distribution Zone of the branch since the beginning of the year.

The newest high-tech metering devices have the function of hourly multi-tariff metering of electricity, power control and other parameters necessary for the consumer to plan electricity consumption and optimize payments for electricity.

Installation of multifunctional measuring sets is carried out as part of energy service contracts of the branch, the implementation of which will significantly reduce the number of facts of non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption. By the end of the year, it is planned to install about 7.5 thousand smart metering devices in Ostashkovsky district, this will reduce losses by 1.3 million kW/h per year, which in monetary terms will be more than 4.5 million rubles.

“A large amount of work has been done on installing smart meters in Ostashkovskiy Distribution Zone,” said Anton Balakin, the deputy director for sales and development of services of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division. - “These metering devices have a number of advantages both for consumers and for the grid company: they are highly sensitive, provide remote monitoring of power quality parameters and reliability of power supply, remote taking of readings, disabling non-payers at requests of a power supply company, control of power consumption, and, it is very important, they allow to track the source of losses, thereby preventing attempts of electricity theft.”
