Kostromaenergo’s specialists conduct energy efficiency lessons in school camps

04.06.2019

Employees of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division continue the systematic work on promoting an energy-saving lifestyle among the younger generation. During the summer holidays, power engineers conduct energy efficiency classes in school camps for children’s activities.

They tell schoolchildren about types of energy and its renewable and non-renewable sources, give recommendations for energy saving in everyday life. Among the most effective methods to rationally use kilowatts are installing a refrigerator in the coolest part of the room, using a washing machine only when the drum is fully loaded, turning on air conditioners or heaters only with windows and doors closed, and disconnecting chargers from the outlet. And, for example, abandoning the habit of leaving household appliances in standby mode saves an average of 200 - 300 kWh of electricity per year.

During June, Kostromaenergo’s experts plan to conduct 10 classes in school camps in the region, more than 300 children will take part in them.
