Yaroslavl power engineers reminded children of the danger of electric current

03.06.2019

On the eve of the summer holidays and the International Children’s Day, specialists from IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division held an electrical safety lesson for the third grade parallel of school No. 58 of the city of Yaroslavl.

The power engineers told about the threats that may lie in wait if the rules of safe handling of electricity are not followed. They warned the guys from approaching broken wires, current-carrying parts of electrical installations, games near transformer substations and power lines. They showed the main safety signs that are installed on power facilities and explained their meaning. Yarenergo’s experts also showed equipment that electricians use in their work - helmets, dielectric gloves and boots.

“Separately, I want to appeal to parents and teachers. Ahead of the long holidays, children will spend more time in the street for games and walks. Many will go to villages, to visit grandparents. Talk to your children and tell them again about the dangers of electric current. The child should know well where it is impossible to go, where it is impossible to play, what not to do. Not to guess or vaguely represent, but precisely to know, to quickly find the way in case of an emergency - this is very important, safety depends on it,” said Igor Meshkov, an engineer of the industrial safety and production control department of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division.

You can familiarize yourself with the electrical safety rules, first aid materials for electric shock, the boundaries of protected areas of power facilities, safety warning signs and their meaning, as well as watch videos and cartoons on the subject on IDGC of Centre’s website at www.mrsk-1.ru/customers/electrical-safety/
