Smolenskenergo begins reconstruction of the substation, which is to become digital

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division is starting the work on reconstruction of the substation as part of the digital transformation program.

The branch’s specialists will carry out work on the reconstruction of the 110/35/10 kV Kozino substation with replacement of the T-2 power transformer with a higher-capacity transformer to improve the quality of services provided to consumers of electricity. As part of the modernization program, it is planned to replace power transformers with more powerful equipment, replace relay protection and automation devices and dispatching and technological control devices with modern ones supporting the modern information transfer protocol. The substation will be equipped with modern electricity metering devices that allow automatic data collection. At the time of the work performance, the reliability of power supply in the following settlements will be reduced: the Yuzhny micro-district in the city of Smolensk, the settlement of Odintsovo, the village of Bogoroditskoye, Kozino, Altukhovka, the settlement of Prigorskoe, the village of Goryany, Nagat, Rai, Schechenki. The work is planned without de-energizing consumers.

Smolenskenergo has developed measures to reduce the risk of interruption of power supply to consumers during emergency conditions, including: they tested and prepared for use back-up power supply sources, repair schemes were developed for power supply to consumers, and first responding and emergency repair crews are equipped and put on high alert.
