Tver branch of IDGC of Centre reduced the failure rate in electric grids following the results of the last autumn-winter period of 2018-2019

24.05.2019

Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Manvel Mazhonts took part in a meeting of the Government of the Tver region, the main issue on the agenda of which was the results of the passage of the autumn-winter period of 2018-2019 and preparation of housing and communal and social facilities for the upcoming season.

Governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, noted the importance of timely and high-quality preparation for the period of loads of the autumn-winter maximum, as well as the need to continue systematic work to improve the reliability of heat, water and power supply to consumers.

“The number of failures and violations has decreased, the percentage of availability in the past season was higher than previous periods,” stressed Governor Igor Rudenya.

The head of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre, Manvel Mazhonts, emphasized that this result is the best in recent years: “The autumn-winter period of 2018-2019 was conducted as planned. The number of power outages at some voltage levels of electric grids decreased by 6 times, and in the branch as a whole by 30-40 percent. The large-scale exercises in organizing interaction and eliminating massive violations at the power grid facilities in the Tver region, which were carried out for three months, were comparable to five-year production programs, played a key role in this.”

A large-scale production program was carried out within the framework of the exercises of subsidiaries and affiliates of PJSC ROSSETI held in 2018 from September to December 2018: 12.7 thousand hectares of routes were cleared and over 1,100 hectares of routes were expanded, 550 kilometres of wire of overhead lines was replaced with self-supporting insulated one. More than 11 thousand power line poles were installed, 327 transformer substations were repaired.

This year, IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division will continue its intensive work to improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the region. In preparation for the period of the autumn-winter maximum of loads, the grid company plans to use the main forces and means to improve the technical condition of the 110 kV and 0.4 kV grids that were not covered during the exercises.

The Tver branch in 2019 will overhaul 37 overhead power lines of 35-110 kV. The repair will be accompanied by replacement of poles, insulators and clearing of routes of power lines. Most of the planned work is scheduled to be carried out without involvement of contractors, which will make 81% of the maintenance and repair program of the branch and will not only reduce operating costs, but also provide the necessary level of repairs. Tverenergo’s personnel will also repair 1,074 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines and 513 transformer substations of 6-10 kV.
